KT Tunstall, birth name Kate Victoria Tunstall, is a Scottish songwriter who was born and grew up in St Andrews, Fife.

Jack Vettriano is a famous Scottish artist who grew up in Methil, Fife.
At auctions his paintings sell for £100,000’s and he is held in high regard within the Fife community.
Every four years he funds scholarship for the University of St Andrews for a student who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to attend university.
Ian Rankin is a very popular and famous Scottish crime novelist.
Ian grew up in Cardenden, Fife and attended Beath High School in Cowdenbeath.

Jim Leishamn is well know throughout the Fife area, mainly due to his previous role as Manager at Dunfermline Athletic Football Club. Jim is very much a Fife evangelist, which is a key part of his role as Fife Provost.
In 2007 Jim was appointed a member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) and in 2008 he had a street in Dunfermline named after him.
You will frequently find Jim in the local news papers and other local publications promoting businesses and charity events in the Fife area.
Barbara was born in Dunfermline, Fife and is a famous Scottish folk singer. She was awarded an OBE in 2002 for her contribution to music and drama. Take a look at Barbara’s official website to listen to her music.
Edith Bowman was born in the small Fife fishing village of Anstruther, Fife; affectionally known as ‘Anster’ to the locals. The village is also well known for it’s fish and chips, so make sure you visit Anstruther with an empty belly!

Dougray Scott is a famous TV and Film actor and was born in Glenrothes, Fife. He has played a role in significant British TV dramas such as Soldier Soldier and more notably starred as the villain in Mission Impossible II.
Val McDermid is a famous author who was born in Kirkcaldy, Fife and is best known for crime and suspense novels.
Val is also the main sponsor for the McDermid Stand at Stark’s Park, which is home to Raith Rovers, the local Kirkcaldy football club.
It’s not just famous people that Fife is home to, but famous pets too! Hamish McHamish is very much the man about town in St Andrews, Fife. Hamish is so well respected in St Andrews that he has recently received a public funded bronze statue, which was unveiled in the centre of the St Andrews town. Coincidentally, the statue was unveiled by Fife Provost, Jim Leishman, who we’ve already mentioned above.
