Sometimes things just happen that completely take us by surprise. An example of that is exactly as mentioned in the title. For most, it was just a regular day going from one place to another and ‘BOOM!’ 2 Lorries were involved in an road traffic accident on the A92 in Kirkcaldy. It was unexpected, unintentional and unavoidable for the hundreds of people that were affected by it.
Life is like this for most of us. When things happen to us we wonder “if only I had taken the other route”. If only…if only. I believe as I sit here in a massive traffic jam that things happen for a reason. Instead of whining and moaning about the situation, I’m a firm believer of turning something negative into positive action. Here’s some thoughts:
- Call a loved one and tell them how much you love them
- Do something that you’ve been putting off
- Write a blog article (exactly what I did!)
- Express gratitude – remain positive and thankful that you are alive and well
Do you believe that things happen for a reason?
I do. When I was circling the roundabout my brain was mapping 2 routes, the one I ended up taking, and the other that would have had me at my next appointment 2 minutes later than the road I took on a clear day.
We make these split decision subconsciously every second of everyday and most of the time all works out.
It’s just a matter of time before it ends in disaster
I believe that some of our customers don’t really think of the consequences of the things they do. They don’t think about the “what if…?”
For example, when they spill food or drink on their expensive carpets, they don’t think about how that could have possibly been prevented. Have you ever put a glass of red wine on a table whilst the kids or pets are running about?
You and I both know that it’s going to end in disaster. Maybe not that day or the next, but one day an accident will happen.
I listen to stories like this every day and we help people just like you to overcome these incidents.
Take a preventative approach to your life
If you think that something’s not right or a situation is going to end in disaster, don’t let it happen! Take control.
It’s all about being in tune with your intuition and gut feeling. That gut feeling you get is your brain telling you something based on past experiences. It’s possible that you have subconsciously picked it up maybe 10-20 years ago, but you know the feeling I’m referring to, don’t you? It feels weird and mystical like a sixth sense but it’s that brain matter that’s more powerful than any phone, computer or calculator.
Use your head, stick with your gut feelings and believe in yourself.
Have a great weekend and be grateful for all the amazing things you have in life.
Keep It Clean
Derek.
Excellent use of your time stuck in a traffic jam, Derek.
I was in the same jam, but just stuck the heater and the radio on and watched the emergency vehicles scampering about!
Bill
It was one of those days Bill, funny how life takes you down these paths.
