I think you’ll agree that when you live in a town for a long time you tend to forget all the great places that are right here on your doorstop. If you live in Kirkcaldy, what would you say to a visitor who stopped you in the street and asked you “what attractions can I visit here in Kirkcaldy?”
The answer the visitor receives will have an impact on their whole experience and perception of Kirkcaldy and Fife. So it’s good to know what the main attractions are, and not to forget that our visitors have never been to these great places, even though we may have been dozens of times.
If you are visiting Fife for the first time, Kirkcaldy is well placed on the east coast of Fife with great access to all of the main attractions throughout Fife.
There’s good access to the Fife Costal Path, access to the main roads to Dunfermline and St Andrews, the Home of Golf. Kirkcaldy is also a central hub for public transport with a busy bus and train station in the centre of the town.
What we’ve done here at Get It Done Cleaning is pull together 6 attractions you must visit in Kirkcaldy.
Beveridge Park
Situated on the west side of Kirkcaldy and only 10 minutes walk from the train station, Beveridge Park is home to many different events and facilities. The park hosts many musical and sporting events throughout the year and is especially busy throughout the spring and summer period. There are play facilities for children, a pond for boating in the summer and putting is available too. If you are just in the mood for a stroll there are beautiful rose and flower gardens and woodland walks.
There are large grass areas which are ideal for picnics and if you are a keen photographer there’s plenty of colourful scenes available to you.

Ravenscraig Park
Kirkcaldy boasts another fantastic park area on the east side of Kirkcaldy called Ravenscraig Park, which is situated between Dysart and Ravenscraig Castle.
If you’d like to see some of the other attractions in Fife you are in luck as Ravenscriag park connects directly to the costal path network, making it really easy for those who like to walk and cycle to discover Fife.
There is also access to Ravenscraig Castle (see below) and the Harbour Master’s House.
As with all large park areas there are areas for picnics, children to play and woodland walks.
For more information please visit the Fife Council website.
Ravenscraig Castle
As mentioned above, the double towered royal ruin of Ravenscraig castle is situated on the east side of Kirkcaldy with access from Ravenscraig Park.
Ravenscraig Castle was built in the 1400’s and due to the state of the ruins today some of the tower areas have limited public access, however the rest of the castle is accessible at normal times.
The Castle ruins are a great piece of Fife history and worthy of a visit for any visitor to Kirkcaldy.
